Level: 9 CS Original | If you were to sit down and have a talk with a non-confrontational conspiracy theorist, what would you ask him? Personally, I think I would really want to know what was the one piece of evidence that 'swayed' them into the conspiracy world. Also, if those CT'ers who are not Christians are aware of the heavy Evangelical influence in all the NWO stuff. I guess some other things I would want to know would be which gurus they believe/don't believe, which other theories they do/don't believe, and what it would take for them to admit that there conspiracy theory is false.

Level: 9 CS Original | So what questions would you ask your old Ct'er self Aaron? Perhaps in an attempt to subtly sway yourself while still finding out the reason you believed in them?

Level: 12 CS Original | 1. What did I believe? A: Bush declared war to recover the stargate in the Middle East; Bush did 911; NWO; fluoride; aliens at Area 51; JFK; Kerry and Bush are part of Skull and Bones and therefore it didn't matter in 2004 who became president. 2. Why did I believe them? A: The very fact that they cannot be 100% disproven was evidence enough that they were true. Also, the fact that so few people were talking about it meant it had to be true because there can only be so many whistle blowers. Also, I didn't understand why people would make up such stories. 3. Was I smart when I was a CT? A: I was an illogical moron. 4. Why was I illogical? I was a lazy, cut-the-corners teenager who was easily convinced by "impressive evidence." 5. What was my emotional state at the time? A: not good Above all, number 4 was the biggest problem. I never developed the habit of critical thinking or putting honest effort into research.

Level: 9 CS Original | Hmm, thanks for the input. I think number 5 is also important because I think there was a huge increase in NWO believers due to the whole recent financial crisis. (I recall a video from the SPLC that says right-wing militia groups jumped up by over 200% in 2009, and I think that most right-wing militias harbor at least some sort of NWO belief) Uncertain times and dire economic news definitely put people in a bad state of mind... perhaps making them more susceptible or more eager to believe in CT's?

Level: 9 CS Original | The reason I made this thread in the first place was because I planned on doing a little survey on Ct'ers for one of my classes. I'll post it when I finish and maybe you folks can help me make some adjustments and improvements to it.

Level: 9 CS Original | Alright, here's what I got so far. I tried to write most of the questions in a way that would make the person answering them think a little bit more about the subject than they normally would... to look a little more critically into their beliefs instead of just answering with pre-programmed responses. If you guys have any revisions, suggestions, questions to add, or more things to put in the checklists that would be great! Sex: Age: Ethnicity: There are many different variations of the "NWO Theory", each of them hold a different group or organization as being the ones in control. Which group do you believe are the ones 'behind the curtain'? Please check all that apply. [] The Illuminati [] The Bilderburg Group [] Banking Families [] Freemasons [] Big Corporations [] Jews [] Communists [] Aliens [] Other: (Please List) Which of the following organizations/groups do you believe are affiliated with the New World Order? [] Big Business [] Mainstream Media [] Alternative Media [] Major Financial Institutions [] The Movie Industry [] The Music Industry [] The Electronics Entertainment Industry [] Democrats [] Republicans [] The Executive Branch [] The Legislative Branch [] The Judicial Branch [] The State Government [] Foreign Governments [] Civil Liberties Organizations (ACLU, SPLC, etc.) [] Local Institutions (Police, Fire Department, etc.) [] Mainstream Science Institutions [] Other: (Please List) Out of the following events, which do you not believe the 'official story' for? [] JFK Assassination [] 9/11 [] Moon Landing [] TWA 800 [] Waco, TX. [] The Oklahoma City Bombing [] The Holocaust [] Roswell Out of the following, which do you believe in? [] Contrails [] Cryptids [] ESP [] Horoscopes [] Ghosts [] Homeopathy [] Faith Healing [] Demon Possession [] Channeling [] Magic [] Creationism 1. What was the piece of evidence that first 'woke you up'? 2. What was so compelling about this evidence? 3. How long have you been 'awake'? 4. How do you feel about scholars and others such as Noam Chomsky, who while being very opposed to United States policy do not support the theory of '9/11 being an inside job' and other similar theories? 5. Do you believe that websites that refute claims of a NWO are part of said NWO? 6. In your opinion, what is the ultimate goal of the NWO? 7. In your opinion, what is the best way to 'wake people up'? 8. How do you feel about those who distort facts to drive a point home? 9. Where do you receive most of your information about current events from 10. When you look back one week/month/year, do you remember more positive or negative events? 11. Are you a member of any branch of Christianity?

You'd have a hard time sorting out the causation, but it's interesting to consider.

This is a biased questionnaire. We all know CTs can't think. Otherwise, it looks good from first glance. I have no idea if this could pass an IRB, but I know that publishing this isn't your current intentions.

I have no idea if this could pass an IRB, but I know that publishing this isn't your current intentions. " Well I think it wouldn't be used to determine cause and effect relationships, just a content analysis to detect any patterns. As far as I know it doesn't violate any IRB ethics codes... but like you said, not planning on publishing anything related to this anytime soon and I'm sure it'd have to be worked and hammered on much more to bring it up to snuff, this is just a rough draft of sorts. Is there anything you would add to it?
