I, like most of you use an ad blocker so normally I would be spared from all the stuff on the side, but I was using another computer that did not have ad blockers and I came across this little thing.

http://www.trueimmortals.net/</p>

"There are real immortals in the world. They are not supernatural: They just do not get old. They live in hiding among us"

Oooh, spooky! They even have a 'What we know so far' page:

http://www.trueimmortals.net/?page_id=301

Here is their section on conspiracy theories:

http://www.trueimmortals.net/?cat=42

"I just realized that “Trilateral Commission” is an anagram for “Cast-iron Immortal Lies.” Does this strike any of you as disturbing? — Glenn"

I believe the whole gist of the website is that "The already-immortal are seeking to suppress a project intended to provide physical immortality to everyone."

Whole lotta crazy to sift through, has anyone encountered this nonsense before? It's definitely my first time.

Why so hostile to those taking preemptive internet security measures, Ed?

Because the ads pay the bills, I don't use any ad blockers, I've only blocked cltomedia via hosts file and PeerBlock because they're the company that puts out all those talking ads, especially the most famous "CONGRATULATIONS YOU'VE WON!!!!!"

Hey, I didn't install anything. Chrome blocks them by default.

Chrome does not block ads by default, you have to have an extension installed to do it or a third party program doing it. Why would Google purposefully block their #1 income?

I don't know, but I've never seen your ads, and I've never used anything but Chrome on this machine. I also didn't manually install an adblocker, so who knows.

lol hmm.. AdBlock is installed, but I don't remember doing that. I'll add this site to the exemption list. :P

Great, now I see some Ads by Google about those true immortals.

Wait, how exactly do you make money by ads here?

And how does ad blocking impede that?

I don't know exactly how it works, but if we can't see the ads, then he can't accrue clicks / views and make money.

It depends on the ad, they tend to be either by clicks, views, or clicks and views, and so even if you non-clicky intellectuals never click, it still loses some money -- not much, but some. People _do_ click ads, about 5 clicks have been done today, which comes out to about $1.45

I find it ironic that all the ads on the side are ussually selling some sort of conspiracy................do you pick the ads in anyway or are they generated by the text on the website.

They're automatic based on content of the page and also previous pages you've viewed and appear to have interest in.

@Special Ed: How about asking your CIA superiors for a raise, instead of whining about Adblock? Huh?

PS. I don't block ads :)

haha somewhat of a flawed system if you ask me, I'm at a conspiracy debunking site and since things like
conspiracy
free masons
zeitgeist
Alex Jones etc
appear in my history they think I believe in conspiracy's.
