Level: 3 CS Original | We could probably improve Social Security's position by (1) removing the income cap on contributions so that people who make millions of dollars a year pay the same 12.4% on their total incomes everyone else has to pay, like in those "flat tax" proposals conservatives and libertarians keep floating; and (2) we change government policies to encourage the creation of the most productive, highest-wage jobs possible, instead of all those humiliating and worthless servility jobs in retail stores, restaurants and hotels which don't generate much tax revenue. That would require us to stop importing Mexicans and change the tariff incentives to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. | |||||
