Hi

My name is DisordeR and I'm a long time reader/poster at the david icke forums but have become disillusioned with the whole conspiracy time-wasters (or theorists as they are usually known haha)

I just want to have some reasonable coherent debates on all sorts of stuff without anyone accusing the jews or posting random blurry pics of supposed alien shapeshifting lizards (lame!)

What I'm really more interested in is positive action and innovation as opposed to paranoid flip-flopping.

What made me want to sign up was Muerto's excellent front page post and if you allow me I might rewrite and post some of my old blogs if that is OK.

Look forward to seeing you around

o/

> coherent debates

This is one of the better places for that, if you just ignore some of the noise that goes along with it.

Oh and welcome!

Same!

Welcome. Maybe you could detail some of your experiences with the Icketards, the sorts of arguments they use, etc.

Welcome to the forum!

I used to be part of the Icke forum too,
but left when my nerves got the best of me.

Oh hey thanks for the welcome. hehe. I just asked another friend to sign up actually, she might be waiting to get things set up.

Here is a sort of nutshell version of what's at the Icke forum right now;

Yes as Anouk says its a bit crazy. There is a moderate amount of great discussions by a few core people, they are decent enough but we are in the minority. The rest are made up of various slices of religious devouts spurting bible quotes at each other and discussing them. The trolls obviously who pop up and attack any old thing, with a helping of jew haters there too. The spell checkers who constantly correct your spelling and grammar sort of belong to that group.

Then you have the numerology and symbolism crowd who just sit there adding letters and numbers together to form random words that have some sort of meaning to them. (which frustrates me as I keep telling them that we attached meaning to those things, they didn't have any to begin with and those meanings are unique to us right now.) Included in that are the pattern searchers who search texts for random words.

The ufo bunch of course, they will discuss a lot of that, some of that I'm a little interested in. Then you have a massive group with the whole 9/11 thing, "jews did 9/11", holographic planes, laser beams and all that.

The amount of Reptilian believers are a bit OTT sometimes, every 5th post is about someone seeing some kind of lizard shape in a bunch of white noise or badly edited/faked youtube clip. It seems to be a common theme that David Icke somehow believes lizard aliens from the 5th dimension have taken over the worlds leaders secretly. I don't know why but I would hazard a guess its all to force us into slavery so we can be sent to work on a giant doomsday device aimed a saturn.

And finally (phew) the new agers, orgonite crafting, spiritual energy loving, dream catcher using kind of people who think chunks of resin and crystals make them invincible or somehow make their lives better. Most of these people are kind of decent even though they do believe in some funny old stuff.

So yeah a veritable bunch of randoms all discussing their various beliefs. Its pretty hectic a lot of the time with a large amount of negativity and inward fighting. Its good get away from that and this site is quite relaxing.

You summed up the crowds at the Icke website really well Disorder!
But considering how supposedly "love focused" Icke is, half of the time I was there people were constantly fighting eachother, trying to deal with the fear caused by Ickes books/documentaries, depression and so on. So much for not letting fear control you!

No to mention that I always felt super uncomfortable opening up the forum because of the amount of negativity and fear there...Which is just another reason I left.
