There are three rules to having a rational debate:

1. Both people know what they're talking about
2. Both people know how to reason
3. Neither are lying

If it's clear that a CT doesn't know what they're talking about, but you can tell that they are sincere and are logical, then perhaps it's worth talking to them.

If, however, it is clear that they do not know how to reason or are trying to manipulate you, then there's no point.
