Matt Simmons apparently drowned at his home Sunday night

Simmons made an ass of himself by getting on several shows to predict that a science-fictional apocalypse would happen in the Gulf of Mexico because of BP's well.

Well, he was obviously wrong about the apocalypse coming from BP disaster, maybe he was wrong about being able to breathe under water.

Simmons could have died from heart disease; he didn't look healthy in the videos I've seen. I've read that terminally ill people often decline cognitively in the months leading up to their deaths. Simmons might have provided an example of that.
