Do you think that this guy could actually be our old friend Joe? And furthermore, could this just be an elaboration of the possible troll that was Joe? I like to think that Joe was an honest CT'er who did see the error of his ways but I noticed there's a HUGE difference between this guy's hate mail messages and his facebook posts. The latter sounding almost EXACTLY like Joe. And now Joe's gone missing but this guy shows up. Maybe the email is him breaking character? Or it could just be that so many CT'ers all end up typing and thinking the same at one point, who knows just JAQ'ing off.

When I read your post, Sil, I was initially skeptical, but having received emails from both "Joe Lowes" and "Mike Piller," I pulled out a gadget from my toolbag when I was a scambaiter and analyzed the headers of the emails. To my surprise, there is some evidence suggesting they are one and the same person.

"Joe Lowes"'s IP resolves to a server at Southeast Missouri State University. That's consistent with what little he mentioned about himself on the FB group.

"Mike Piller's" IP resolves to Benton, Missouri. On Google Earth, Benton is only 15 miles south of the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

I won't post the headers publicly, but PM me if you want them so you can check for yourself.

If they are one and the same its a pretty troubling sign. Joe posted on one of Mikes post almost at the same time Mike posted. Now if they are the same i'd worry that joe is trying to rejustify cts to himself by creating a fictitious person to define himself through. I really hope its not true. On a side note I just drove past southern missouri. Weird

I don't know if it's better if they're one in the same or two people. Friends could further strengthen beliefs, whereas a loner would be more vulnerable to common sense. Then again, one person trying to pull off multiple personalities and even talking himself to do it (unless he's schizophrenic) in an effort to mess with skeptics is sad, as well.

Well, if Mike Piller lives in the same community and is interested in conspiracy theories, Joe must at least have heard of him. I've posted this topic on the FB page, I'm curious to see what he (or Piller) says in response.

Well, if they are different people it would imply that the state of Missouri doesn't bother teaching children how to spell.

Edward always says that his spelling is bad, it's just due to the magic of spell check that it comes out looking so well.

Sil is right, if I don't spell check something, you can see just how badly I spell. Even when I do spell check, I still spell things all crazy -- mostly because at home I use Dvorak and at work I use QWERTY, so switching back and forth sometimes I screw things up.

Why do you use Dvorak? Personal preference?

I've been using the Dvorak keyboard layout since the 1980s, it wasn't until this newest job I wasn't allowed to install the Dvorak keyboard layout (long story). The reason I started using it was because it was easier to learn, even though I was already familiar with QWERTY at that point -- but also because at the time Apple was pushing it and I was an Apple fan (there wasn't much else to be a fan of anyway).

I talked to Joe, and I'm back to thinking they're different people. There is a professor at Southeast Missouri State who is spreading CT's, so this is probably why they're from the same place and got interested in the same stuff. IPs are from the same region but not the same.

That professor should get canned. I'm all for academic freedom of speech, but I'm really against academic dishonesty- which this professor is clearly doing.

After Mike's recent postings, it definitely makes it seem like this could be the case. I mean, now he's spouting the same things Joe did with the COLLEGE IS BAD mumbo jumbo. Perhaps we should get in contact with this professor or the board at the college and do something about it...

Strike a blow to the CT'ers, stop an academically dishonest professor from spreading his nonsense, and prevent the creation of more paranoid delusional Ct'ers.

I think Mike and Joe are the same guy. Sorry but the college professor theory doesn't make any sense, it just makes it a bigger coincidence that both of these guys know the same professor. They use the exact same way of writing, talk about the same things, both hate higher education and voting, both posted the same Fidel Castro article at the same time and live in the same area. Joe denied that he was the same person as Mike when it was brought up, but strangely Mike never said anything about it, why would that be? Probably because he is not very good at pretending to be two different people and didn't even think to make both identities deny being each other. Mike Piller also posts his stupid comments on the Southeast Missourian newspaper site (see here, here, and here). Well what do you know, the Southeast Missourian wrote an article about Joe a few years back.

Sky, you are a master internet detective.

Though, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that these thoughts still entered Joe/Mike's head initially through a teacher at this institute.

Sky: In the third link you posted, there is this one person 'Lemmie Adam' who Joe/Mike apparently looks up to somewhat (made a thread called 'Lemmie Adam was Right!'). This person mentions the episode of 'The Lone Gunman' which I know was mentioned by either Joe or Mike ('s accounts). So if it was Joe, then they really must be the same person. It's just way too familiar, they have such a distinct style that no other person has.

I wouldn't be in favor of blocking you, I think you could be a valuable voice here. It's certainly not your fault that you're autistic.

Did you make the 2nd account because part of you still believes in CTs, and maybe you were trying to talk yourself out of it? Maybe sometimes you believe in CTs and at other times you don't? I'm not asking this to be nosy or be an asshole, I'm genuinely curious.

Sometime I find it hard to believe in them. But other times it is like the only ansewer. Plus it is hard to look thourgh them a seperate the shit from the rest. Are they all wrong or are some of the wrong.
Every once and a while I will have somebody say something like "you can not believe what you are told." I also do not belive the Cters are these super smart people that they cleam to be. But it has always been heard for me to know who to believe and who not to believe.
I geuss the the Mike Piller guy was just the part of me who can not let it go.

Joe, I don't think any of us here want to block you. I think the majority of us here were CT'ers at some point so maybe we can help? What times do CT's appear to be the only answer to you?

I think one of the main draws about CT's is that they provide certainty, but in the real world where you can only work with what is known there are bound to be some loose ends. For example: the economy. It can go up or down, improve or degrade... no one knows for sure, but people can make estimated guesses based on the knowledge available to them. But people like AJ promise imminent collapse, and even though this isn't the best situation, I think some people just like being certain instead of dealing with the fact that life is full of uncertainties.
