Level: 6 CS Original | Zeitgeisters think that money is only useful when things are scarce. Some things are scarce only to be valuable (like food or to some extend oil). Somewhere the "some" gets lost and becomes "All things are made scarce by the monetary system" and that we could make everything abundant if we stopped being stupid.

Level: 2 CS Original | Okay, well what if Fresco wanted a gold house, their isn't enough gold so he makes Gold seem scarce and takes it to build his gold house where he tells everyone that in his region gold isn't scarce. That is the same BS the THZ says is going on because of the monetary system except I took out the money......money is only the middleman. Its like a con artist selling a sales man a bag full of corn for $100, its a rip off then the sales man sells that bag of corn for $105.................the money is the salesman not the con artist. We get rid of the salesman and their are still con artists.............really I'm using THZ logic and assuming everything they say is true< and its still a load of CRAP. Let also ignore that in theory the banks already own ALL the money in the WORLD!!!!!!!!!! I try to think like them and it still doesn't make any sense.

Level: 6 CS Original | "Okay, well what if Fresco wanted a gold house, their isn't enough gold so he makes Gold seem scarce and takes it to build his gold house where he tells everyone that in his region gold isn't scarce." TZM response: It's stupid to build a house out of gold. Gold has value in a society that "values" scarcity instead of frowning upon the misuse of materials like gold. If you actually liked the color of gold, you could fake it pretty well with less scarce materials. yadayada. You can make TZM logic sound pretty sensible when you ignore a lot of details, i.e., that this has to work with every good, every industry and every product, unless science comes up with a new product just before people start stealing.

Level: 2 CS Original | haha I would argue that you could replace gold in the example with any resource lets say its Beetle DUNG, and it isn't the money that is causing misuse of resources. Also its not people who are in poverty misusing the resources, its the people with the power to control said resources, wheather that power comes from money or physical control of a Beetle DUNG farm. hahah fun faux zeitgiester argument.

Level: 0 CS Original | I kinda like the answer to my question of, what about the scarcity of beach front property, with the replies being either, not everyone will want to live by the beach, or we'll just build more beaches.. I'm torn between the vision that the entire world will be one huge seaside park and everyone lives on the beach.. (And drowns the next time it floods..) And one person living on the beach whilst the rest of humanity cuddles up in the kind of apartments you see in Blade Runner..

Level: 6 CS Original | "I kinda like the answer to my question of, what about the scarcity of beach front property, with the replies being either, not everyone will want to live by the beach, or we'll just build more beaches.." Got that answer too. "Only five percent will want beach homes!". Well, that still sounds like much more than we got beaches.

Level: 0 CS Original | So, how does one solve the problem of beach front property ? A lottery ? Kinda fair.. That way, if you don't like the beach, you can trade your winning ticket for something you want! Everything can be a lottery then.. Want a new TV, why get a lottery ticket as there isn't enough to go around! Actually, that might work mighten it..

That would be my question too. But, as its like getting blood out of a stone with answers from Fresco, I'm not sure we will ever hear the answer in his lifetime..

Want a new TV, why get a lottery ticket as there isn't enough to go around! Actually, that might work mighten it.." Hey that sounds like a political ideal I cam up with in high school............. Randomism Every decision is based on and elaborate algorithmic consisting of computers drawing random numbers from the date, time, temperature, coin tosses, cock fight results, and the amount of power generated from 1000 hamsters running on wheels. Numerical results could be filtered to answer simple yes no (odd or even) questions the government would use to make EVERY decision. You have to give me some credit, this would be WAAAAAAAAAAAY easier to implement the RBE.

Level: 0 CS Original | Reminds me of the way to assure kids eat their dinners, before a random toss of the coin decides if they get pudding or not that day after they have eaten all their dinner first.. You don't have to random every decision, just those where its hard to choose one person from another. Why they even used it in my school to determine who went college or not, rather than bother to base it on any academic ability or interest in the subject..
