Hi guys!

I first want to tell you a bit about myself, this may become a long post ;)

Alright, I'm Martin from Germany. To put it short, I was a Conspiracy Theorist. Or well, what I like to call a "CT-follower".
I never went to any of the hardcore loony sites like Delusional Idiots or Prison Planet, etc. That probably saved my butt big time. It basically started out with interest in UFOs, and after "doing some research" ( ;) ) I of course got lead to the whacky NWO/Illuminati type CT-fear mongers... That all with the (naive) assumption that those people actually had done research, after all they always claim to do so. After all they call themselves THRUTHERS... I sadly didn't critically examine their "evidence". Please understand, I am (or really was) not your average CT nut.
So that was last year. I kind of just let it go, and tried to forget about it a bit, and relax. I suffer from a very bad case of chronic migraine, and a severe depression, that is obviously a reason for my CT-problem.
It all went quite well, until the Tohoku EQ happened, and suddenly everyone (not even on the CT sites wich I kept myself away from) screamed "HAARP!!!11!" I started thinking, and it started to really worry me. I had a break down of sorts. My depression played a big role in it. I just couldn't take the stress anymore, and I started to look for debunkings. Brian Dunning's HAARP debunk did the job for the HAARP fear :) .
To sum it up, although I consider myself a skeptic now, I still occasionally get this paranoid feeling in my stomach, very similar to fear. This is what I call my "relapses". I don't buy into the CT stuff again, but it kind of unsettles me.

So basically I've been trying to debunk any CT I come across. A friend of mine started to post all this kind of "Illuminati contols Music business" and Illuminati symbolism in movies, music videos, etc... Linking to VC.

the problem is, I haven't found a good debunking for them. Do you guys have any ideas?

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Instead of debunking the illuminati owning and running the music business, you should logically go to the root of your problem, that is this...can anyone actually prove the illuminati exist in the real world and are actually planning to enslave and kill us all, whilst committing all this demonic worship and putting the symbolism in things ?

My advice would be to read debunkings of everything about the illuminati and every claim made about them, that way when someone like VC goes on about the illuminati running the music business you will know it to be ridiculous because the illuminati are not the nefarious bunch of 12 families who suck blood, kill babies and want to rape your first born. You will see it to be the big idiotic joke that it is.

I also started along the same lines as you, with interest in UFO's, and believing in CT's does bring anxiety and stress disorders, but once you have removed those fears and beliefs you are just left with how you deal with the real world.

My final advice is to debunk every false belief you hold, get back to being a critical thinker and evaluate everything people try to make you believe that might be fear based. This should begin to stabilise your mind, the bottom line is this: don't worry so much there is no reason to make your life miserable because other people are paranoid and want you to believe their delusions.

Remember a lot of the Conspiracy theorists are hate filled and fear filled people, often with severe religious and political leanings, they use their conspiratorial beliefs to validate their religious and political bent.

To put it into an analogy for you:

As a non political non religious person its similar to looking left and right to cross the road safely, you can see the oncoming crazy drivers from either side.

I'm not sure debunking VC is possible due to the sheer amount of insanity the site produces.

Regardless, debunking every article VC posts would not help your psychological issues. Only a trained mental health professional can do that.

This is not meant to insult or troll you in any way. I think perhaps you just need help, the interest in VC and conspiracies are incidental.

@ Agent Matt:

I understand :) I've had some problems with psychologists and other shrinks in the past, so I don't think I will go that path, nor do I really think I need it :)

Don't get me wrong, I never visited the site, and I do laugh at that stupid stuff. I was just trying to get a good debunking to get that friend of mine out of the bull shit.
I even linked him to the JREF, but him being the lazy bastard he is... He's the kinda guy that would read Dan Brown and believe every word, just because DB said it's all true on the first page...

Then theres no point wasting your time on him/her if they're not going to listen or read what you present to them.

Cut your losses and learn you can't save people, they either want to fuck their own lives and heads up or they dont.

People are pretty much self opinionated and believe whatever they want, once you realise that you will stop giving a fuck about trying to save other people because you will waste years of your own life bashing your head against a wall and then finally they come round of their own free will and nothing to do with you.

Spend your time talking to people who want to listen and will read what you present.

Hey Kaiser Falkner :)

While I'm German, I usually reside on the English speaking side of the Internet, I almost don't see myself as German anymore, besides that I own German ID and Passport ;). I tend to even think in English.

Considering that, I got all of my CT bullshitism from US, or English speaking sites (although, as I said in the OP, I never went to IW, PP or Delusional Idiots, nor VC for that matter. I never joined any CT forum, again, that saved my ass. As for German CTs, well, actually there's one concerning the aforementioned ID Card. Do a google search for "Personalausweis" and I kid you not, there's a pattern/figure on the back of it, wich CTists identify as Baphomet :D. Looks more like a bull, if you ask me. Otherwise, German CTers are almost butthurt they don't have their own 911 / FalseFlagOp. They SO BADLY want it. It's sad. On may 21st I was browsing on a German CT forum for a laugh, and of course, they expected the world to end. So they literally posted about every second, while constantly refreshing the IRIS Seismic Monitor. It was hysterical, with posts like "There's one right there! Ooooh, this could still be something!!!".

Well, VC has been putting out an article chronicling so-called "Illuminati symbols" that artists across the world are using. Here's his most recent one:

http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/symbolic-pics-of-the-week-080611/</p>

Apparently his followers send him these pics but he also finds them himself.

While it does seem strange that artists, models, actors and actresses from other parts of the world are displaying the same kind of symbols, it is also probable that they may be doing this through exposure of American media and seeing how our stars are posing in such a manner.

Also, I believe that celebrities here are very well aware of sites like the Vigilant Citizen and are using such poses and imagery to generate even more controversy, hence, more attention and publicity upon themselves. Not only the celebrities themselves are aware but probably the people that manage them are also aware and use these to generate said publicity of celebrities.

One reason I believe in the latter part of this is because of interviews done by Jay-Z where he disputes the rumors of him being in the illuminati and a devil worshiper, he also disputes it in the Rick Ross song "Freemason." Rihanna addressed these rumors in an interview with Angie Martinez, joking about being a devil worshiper when asked why she had her hand over her eye on her Rated R album. Rihanna was clearly joking about it which makes me think she was aware of these rumors. She also pokes fun at the media, bloggers and websites such as Vigilant Citizen in her music video for "S&M" of which the theme was "Scandals & Media" The words "Princess of the Illuminati" were repeatedly shown being written on reporters' pads, scrolling on the wall behind her among other rumors of her. She was clearly giving the message that she was aware of these conspiracy theory rumors of her and was making fun of those who propagate those "devil worshiper, illuminati puppet" rumors of her.

Of course, people that frequent sites such as Vigilant Citizen don't get the message, rather they see it as confirmation of the their beliefs that such celebrities are in mind control, in the illuminati, devil worshipers, etc. They don't get that the celebrities are in fact, making fun of them because they know that these rumors and conspiracy theories are ridiculous.

Not really unusual because the artists are all signed to major labels, major labels are multi national corporations that have an image they present in different countries. There is nothing unusual about a particular style or trend they would present to one country and impose as much of that onto another country at the same time when you look at it with common sense.

Playboy is an example, it has an international magzine it presents itself across 24 or more international countries and it tries to keep a specific agenda across them all, but adheres to the customs and laws of each individual country. But it still has a plan how it should be presented and what style and material is within its covers.

Thanks anticultist for explaining that to me, that makes much more sense as to why the "one eyed symbolism" is showing up in places like India's Bollywood, or K-Pop and J-Pop groups. I knew that there were international versions of magazines so they probably run the same themes, as you said. French Vogue is in the midst of a controversy for "sexualizing" children in their Cadeux photoshoot.

which Vigilant Citizen did an article on that particular shoot before.

Yeah sexualising that kids not really a cool thing to do, I agree with Caramel though she is a beautiful looking girl, but sticking her in those adult clothes and adult themed poses and make up makes it comical and even uncomfortable to look at.

Does anyone remember a show called mini pops from the 1980s ?

It was a show that had kids dress up like the adult pop stars of the day and perform their current hits, it may have only been a uk show but this image above on the vogue cover reminds me of that show, its pretty tacky and bad taste.

heres an example of mini pops for you LOL:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKcmHwjfCbg

The Lynsey Lohan image is probably the most suggestive one out of all of them really, in that VC post. Its insnuation of a group sex occurance is about to happen is quite shocking and controversial, sex kitten is probably the right word but I would probably go for porn kitten, and not in the brain washed way VC thinks. Because no doubt at all as soon as the photograph was taken Lohan got up, put her clothes back on, and stepped off the set to the right into the open warehouse it was taken and chatted with her friends and coworkers who were all there standing by.
