The internet wont be there to communicate with if thats the case. I have my doubts about this catastrophist belief, I'm not saying that oil wont run out, but I just cant see how its going to be soon. Does this guy think its gonna be like mad max ? Is anyone in the know about peak oil here? If so I would like to see an in depth counter to this because I am hearing a lot about it recently and it would be nice to see the statistics and counters. Apparently according to these believers there are public figures and respectable people claiming its true ? | |||||

Level: 9 CS Original | As far as the oil leak accelerating peak oil, will it even have a huge effect? I know it seems like a lot, but we use a lot of oil too... so in the greater scheme of things is it really that much oil? Like a year's supply we're losing or maybe just a month or a week. Anybody know? | |||||

The higher estimates suggest that 60,000 barrels per day are leaking, and we consume roughly 80 mil barrels/day. EDIT: however, "NOAA pegs the leak at an estimated 210,000 gallons, or approx. 5,000 barrels, per day." So, no one really knows at this point. | |||||
