I dont know if any of you have seen this homegrown documentry, but part two i really dont like it at all! They try to suggest that the ny fire fighters, even at the top level were in on the collaps of building 7 Shit no way but if you listen closly its there.......... i dont care i still dont belive it man..... what do you think watch the whole thing first before just putting some erroneous comment up please (just a foreword because most people do) parts 1 to 7 are in order.

Where's the evidence?

We can talk about things right at the beginning of the first link:

1) Who defines what New World Order means? Is it the politicians? No, it's the conspiracy theorists, they define it and explain it, making the connection meaningless.
2) 1/3 of Americans know about the NWO. Where do they get this number? Oh, I know, it's made up. The idea that 100 million Americans know about the NWO is silly, Alex Jones barely has over a couple of million fans.

I've wondered how China fits into conspiratorial thinking, considering that its government has kept the country relatively isolated and free from Western influence until recently. Nobody I've read argues that the Illuminati control China, in other words.

Then I started encountering the claims of another crackpot, Benjamin Fulford. According to Fulford, the Chinese have a counter-force to oppose the Illuminati:

This sounds too much like the plot of a bad novel to take seriously. Does Fulford expect us to believe that a "Chinese secret society" would unleash "100,000 professional assassins" to murder the 10,000 Illuminati leaders in the West as retaliation for trying to depopulate East Asia?

Belief in an alleged evil forthcoming "NWO" is not confined to Alex Jones's fans. The idea has been part of fundamentalist Christian "anti-Christ" narratives for decades. Alex Jones basically just puts a secular gloss on what have long been popular fundamentalist Christian end-times beliefs. Televangelist Pat Robertson, for example, was talking about the "New World Order" long before Alex Jones appeared on the scene.

I often bring up that point exactly. Alex Jones himself used to be a follower of the John Birch Society, which I remember in the 1980s promoted the same NWO stuff and fear of the UN. Instead of saying microchips were a part of the NWO's plan, it was UPC tags. I thought what he was implying was that 100 million Americans believe the coming NWO. I imagine nearly everyone has heard about it, but most don't care or think it's stupid.

Whether "most don't care or think it's stupid" depends on where you live. In what part of the country do you live?

I would suspect that Alex Jones's statistic is not too far off, actually. "Born-again" Christians are 40% of the U.S. population. By no means are all these "born-again" Christians full-blown fundamentalists, but it would not surprise me if at least 50% of them believe in some version of the end-times narratives that have long been popularized within the evangelical subculture, complete with the forthcoming dystopian "one-world government" of the Antichrist. That's 20% of the U.S. population. Add to that the number of people who have heard -- and believed -- secularized versions of grand conspiracy ideology on late night radio shows such as AM Coast to Coast, or via popular Internet videos such as Zeitgeist, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the total number of believers in "New World Order" claims were somewhere close to 30% of the U.S. population.

Any sociologists out there? Please consider taking a survey.
