Are these the original "source" of the "NWO wants to kill almost everyone on the planet" claims?

http://zombaphobesunite.blogspot.com/2010/03/common-sense-renewed-by-robert.html</p>

There's some parts of the book (Common Sense Renewed) written by the person who commissioned these stones to be built. I'm sure it's not the whole thing, but in the parts about population... there's nothing about mass killing or anything. He talks about ways to curb population growth in the future such as how a few generations of single-child families would make a huge (positive) impact and what not.

"The most pressing world environmental problem is (21:09) the need to control human numbers. In recent century’s technology and abundant fuels have multiplied humanity far beyond what is prudent or long sustainable. (Says who?) We can foresee the impending exhaustion of certain energy sources and the depletion of many vital raw materials. We are wantonly vandalizing the world of nature. To control our reproduction is crucial. This will require major changes in our attitudes and customs.

...Reproduction is no longer explicitly a personal matter. Society must have a voice and some power of direction in regulating this vital function. The desires of human couples are very important but they must not neglect the consideration of society at large. The general welfare of this and future generations must be given increasing consideration as we develop plans for rational guidance for our procreation. "

What are your thoughts on these stones and their messages?

Two (perhaps three) words: hippie bullshit, or new-age bullshit. It's silly talk that matches a lot of new age beliefs around the time, and some even today. To me, it'd be like going to all those cares buried in the desert and assuming that also is a sign of the NWOs plans, I just need to figure out a way to use it as proof.

I've read that the first edition of the book was printed with only 100 copies, yet thousands were distributed to congressmen and the Reagan administration and what not. (No real source for the second part). At any rate, it's been over 30 years since these stones went up, and if this person was trying to influence political policy... they've done a rather poor job. We're still waging war instead of settling things in some sort of world court, we still have tons of petty laws and useless officials, and there is no new language in the works to "unite humanity". Pretty much everything written on them has failed to even come close to passing.

Do you think these stones are the original source for the "depopulation" claims or did those originate somewhere else?

I really don't remember the Georgia Guidestones even being talked about in CT circles until fairly recently.

I think it comes from overreaction to the 1970's overpoulation hysteria brought on by stuff like The Population Bomb by Paul Ehrlich.

Because of its roots in fundamentalist apocalyptic beliefs about an alleged forthcoming dystopian "one world government" of the Antichrist during the "Great Tribulation," today's grand conspiracy ideology tends to vilify everything "New Agey," such as the Georgia Guidestones.

What's really ironic is that, today, lots of "New Age" people have become believers in "Illuminati" grand conspiracy ideology. That's a little like Jews believing in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
