Yes, I love how Zeitgeisters preach peace, love and happiness...until you disagree with them. Then, no torture is bad enough to punish you.

Real altruistic, these people.

A technocrat gets insulted by a "technocracy light" fan for allegedly defending the status quo, that's rich.

@Special Ed I didn't know you supported the venus project. I have to say I don't support the venus project mainly since it's not based on since. The Zeitgeist movement takes the vensu project more like a religion than anything else. I do agree that their are problems with society that I wish could be remedied somehow.

I would like to see a then-and-now special for TZM people in 10 years. By then, most should be in or out of college.

Its no great mystery why most Zeitgeisters are at the age when you first learn that life isn't fair.

They don't care because the notion that people enjoy their jobs is inconceivable to them.

If some more practical movement will be created, they'll leave TZM and join that one.

I think it's pretty obvious that the majority of members seem to be members, because the alternative would be to support the "system", whatever a Zeitgeister believes that to be.

Yeah Special Ed, why do you support such an unscientific "project"? Even Technocracy Inc hasn't kept up with science enough to garner my support.

I like a lot o the ideas for structure, development, technological application, that is how they were presented prior to TZM's over simplification of everything. I've never agreed with the blank-slate theory promotions of Fresco. My support comes from an anarchist perspective on it, combined with my support for transforming capitalism via technocracy. I didn't fall into it blindly, nor do I see Fresco as a prophet, in fact he's more of a profiteer. His ideas aren't new though, he took a lot of good things people before him said and combined them, except overlapped it with pseudo-sociology.

So you like the centrally planned cities?

But technocracy depends on the same blank slate ideology as TVP.

>> But technocracy depends on the same blank slate ideology as TVP.

If we surrender to the line of thinking that it has to be perfect society where bad things only happen because people learn how to do bad things. I don't really suggest that at all, I think technocracy will be the inevitable outcome of the progression of technology, though you can't force it to happen or sit on a forum and wish for it to happen, invest in new technologies and help make it happen. And of course, live to be several hundred more years old, and I'll do that myself, or die trying of course.

I don't really understand the point of technocracy. You can't force people to be rational.

No, but you can educate them early on to be critical thinkers. Critical thinking is not taught effectively or at all in most US schools.

Few are born without the capability of learning how to be critical thinkers.

I suppose the hope is if you're born into a life where you're educated to think critically and to value learning and having a positive attitude, less people will not want to do it.

I didn't care about thinking critically until I saw a benefit in it and after I was exposed to it.

I don't know the answer to that, but I'd imagine it would end up breeding a population full of more atheists than what we have today.

I see it as people becoming more rational and critical, leading to a higher number of people logically deducing that god does not exist.
